Queensland’s finest restaurants and caterers were recognised at the 2013 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence in the Brisbane Town Hall this week. The Waterline Restaurant at Keppel Bay Marina was there to fly the flag for the Capricorn Region.
“We were finalists in three categories, and we won the award for Contemporary Australian Cuisine NQ and the award for best Tourism Restaurant for the whole of Queensland.” says Kylie Smith, General Manager.
“To be acknowledged by our industry peak body for excellence in what we do is a great credit to our team, and is also great recognition for our Region. Our restaurant was judged against the best restaurants across the state to win these awards, so to have a Restaurant from the Capricorn Coast take home two awards really builds the profile of the Capricorn Coast as a dining destination”
The Awards for Excellence is the most dependable and authoritative guide to Australia’s best restaurants and caterers, which has set the National benchmark for objectively recognising and promoting best practice.
“The Restaurant and Catering Awards recognise Excellence in all aspects of the Restaurant, including the food, the service and the commitment to excellence and industry best practice. It is a great acknowledgement for our staff and a great motivation to keep the team striving to improve the customer experience” says Executive Chef, Matt Smith.
The Waterline will now go on the represent the Queensland at the National Finals.
